    PROGRAM

    Study Italian and experience Florence, Italy this summer. 1 week sessions in June, July and August. All inclusive price includes the course tuition, housing, meals, activities, local tours, and materials. Students are supervised at all times while attending the program, and while staying with the Italian host families. All host families are located within easy walking distance to the program location. Includes airport pick-up service,and drop off. Meet other young people (teenagers) from all over the world. Italian language lessons are in the morning (9:00 am – 13:00 pm), a total of 20 hrs for the week, M-F. After the lessons, then students have lunch with the program supervisor in a self service restaurant nearby, and then is followed by fund cultural activities and tour excursion in Florence.     LOCATION

    Florence is known as the “Cradle of the Renaissance”, with a population of over 500,000, is easy to reach by car or train. It offers the visitor historical and artistic cultural events year-around. Program is located in the heart of Florence, nearby the Duomo and Uffizi Gallery. It’s location allows for easy half-day excursions to Pisa, Siena, or Lucca. Overall, a wonderful place to spend part of your summer learning Italian and experiencing the Italian culture.

    COURSES

    Italian language courses that are organized for teenagers aged between 15 – 18 yrs, and take place in the morning – early afternoons, M-F for 1 week at a time. Structured in a way so that they are learning in a fun way. Students are tested and placed in the proper level. Classes are taught in the mornings from 9:00 am – 13:00 pm. 20 hrs per week. Can extend for a 2nd week if desired. All courses are taught for qualified instructors (university trained) to teach Italian as a 2nd language. All levels offered: beginner, intermediate, advanced.

    ACADEMIC CREDIT

    Students can earn academic credit (high school or college). Certification transcript issued upon completing the weekly course. Possible to earn 1 credit (transfer). 20 hrs of classes per week.

    ACTIVITIES

    Organized group activities (cultural) are included at no additional cost. Staff supervises students at all activities. Students should bring comfortable walking shoes (sport type), as well as a bathing suit, and 1 towel.

    Includes the following:

    • Walking tours in the historical center of Florence
    • Treasure hunt through the streets of the historical center (& get ice cream)
    • Italian cooking lessons with a dinner
    • Visit to museum with art history teacher
    • Afternoon at the pool and refreshments
    • Half day excursion to Pisa, Siena, or Lucca
    • Meeting with Italian students (exchange)
    • Dinner in a classic pizzeria

    INSURANCE

    Students are required to have medical and accidental insurance. Family coverage plan, or buy additional insurance to cover their stay in Italy (& while traveling there and back).
    CSA will provide some web-links for student type (travel) medical and accidental, to easily buy online.

    HOUSING – Included ( Italian host family)

    Housing with nearby Italian Host Families is included, as well as 2 meals daily (Breakfast & Dinner). Families have been screened well, and are selected by the staff there in Florence. Each host family takes very good care of the student – guest, and supervises them. Family info (details) are provided prior to program start date – included as part of the confirmation documents (admission docs). Let su know if you have any dietary restrictions, food allergies, or diabetic.

    ARRIVAL / DEPARTURE

    Students should arrive into Florence by Sunday (for check-in), and plan to check-out Saturday.
